On Sunday I had a brunch picnic in our backyard, as a sort of going-away get-together. It was also a chance for James to catch up with everyone as he was in town for a few days. I covered our little patch of lawn in various blankets, throws and tablecloths and strung some white paper lanterns between the trees overhead. I asked everyone to bring a dish of something yummy and brunch-like and we all sat around drinking orange juice and champagne and eating delicious muffins, banana bread, cupcakes, fruit and other tasty treats! It was such a lovely morning - the weather was beautiful (where else in the world can you plan an outdoor event in mid-winter and pull it off?) and it was such a nice, relaxed way to catch up with everyone...and for all the babies to hang out! Best of all there was very little organisation required on my part (necessary when you're moving house in a couple of weeks!) and the clean-up was really quick and easy! The perfect party :)
