Shoyeido Incense

Ever since I started selling the beautiful Pull + Push Incense Burners I've been looking for just the right incense to sell alongside them. My friend Eko is a bit of an incense expert and she taught me some time ago that the only incense worth knowing about came from Japan. But finding just the right Japanese incense proved to be a bit of a battle! Eventually Nobuhiro Sato of Pull + Push suggested Shoyeido, a famous incense maker in Kyoto, the same city where Pull + Push is based, and it turns out their incense is the perfect match for his little houses!
Shoyeido have been making incense in Kyoto for twelve generations. Theirs is considered the highest quality, most natural incense available and is the preferred incense for most temples in Japan. Shoyeido's blending process is an art form, whereby highly trained masters draw upon centuries-old secrets to create modern works of fragrance. Working with the finest natural ingredients, these artisans must carefully process the quality, balance and ratio of each component. You can read more about the processes involved and exactly what sets Shoyeido incense apart on their English website.
We now have their incense cones in four amazing fragrances, Rose, Pine, Lavender and Jasmine, and there is also a lovely gift set of 30 sticks and a glazed ceramic incense holder. Unfortunately we are currently out of stock of the Pull + Push House and Cottage Incense Burners but we're expecting more to arrive in coming weeks! In the mean time you can find Shoyeido incense at Mr Sparrow in Subiaco or in our online store here.
