Every so often Freedom comes up with some great furniture and they currently have a range called Oakwright which I think is beautiful. I particularly love the little stool (side table) and the bench and I think the sideboard would be seriously useful...

ReplyDeleteThis is a really nice range. Is it actually wooden though? Or just MDF with a little bit of wood on the outside i.e. fauxkwright. or even fauxkwrong. (You have to sound these out phonetically as they just look like gibber on the page).
ReplyDeleteHaha! Yeah it took me a minute to work those out :) Good question...it is fairly pricey, though, so I'm thinking probably real wood but it would require a closer look!
ReplyDeleteI just got the bench and the dining table at their end of year sale (50% off!) and it is solid oak. Definitely not veneer. The quality and craftsmanship is actually excellent for a mass-produced Freedom piece. Very Jardan-like, you're right. Unfortunately, they've discontinued this line now. I got one of the last tables and had to buy floor stock for the bench. For the price though, I'm not complaining!
