Happy Friday!...and Yoshii Towel
Posted by Anna Macoboy
Yes, Happy Friday! This week has felt like a long one for some reason (I kept thinking it was Friday yesterday, which is always a bad sign), so I'm happy to be welcoming in the weekend at last. And looking forward to next week with its sure-to-be-lovely midweek break for Australia Day :)
These are some little buds from a bunch of lovely white orchids left for us by our wonderful house-sitter, Ally - two weeks old and still going strong!
Greenhouse, which stocks eco-friendly home furnishings and accessories. Amongst their beautiful wares was a little stack of the loveliest towels I'd ever seen. Think it's hard to get excited about towels? Well, maybe, but these were seriously unlike any I'd ever seen. This picture just doesn't do them justice. Of course I had to buy a couple of hand towels (I was pleasantly surprised by their very reasonable price) in a beautiful tricolour chambray, which we're now enjoying at home. But the real reason I'm telling you about these is that they're on their way to Mr Sparrow! Of course I had my eyes peeled for exciting new products while in New York and, although I wasn't overwhelmed with what I saw, there were a few items (like these!) that really got me excited and had me contacting the designers as soon as I hit home turf. I'll share my other exciting finds with you soon! The towels are made by a company called Yoshii Towel in Imbari, Japan. They are exceptionally soft because Yoshii use special twisted ring threads called Shankar 6. They are also environmentally friendly (you can read more about that here) and - let's face it, most importantly - they are beautiful! To read more about Yoshii Towel take a look here or pop into Mr Sparrow in a couple of weeks when you'll see a great range of their bath and hand towels on our shelves! I will definitely be taking home a couple more for myself!
