About a week ago I received this pretty little package in the mail from Bayley Collins. Bayley lives in Auckland, New Zealand, and has her own art and design label called birdinabunnysuit. She creates collages and drawings inspired by collections of found images, and the result is these beautiful cards. I love the way the archival style of the animal images prevents them from being too cute, even while a bunny is hopping out of a bird suit! The prints and the cards themselves are of such high quality as well.
There are so many beautiful cards out there that I had forced myself to have a "no more cards" rule at Mr Sparrow, in an attempt to stop it from turning into a stationery store! But as soon as I opened Bayley's package I knew I would have to make an exception for these very special cards. So yes, you will be seeing these very soon at Mr Sparrow, and I'm very excited to be Bayley's first Australian stockist!
There is some fantastic design coming out of New Zealand at the moment (BOSSKE Sky Planters and Jo Luping Design, just to name a couple) and I hope to be stocking some more of it at Mr Sparrow in the future!
