There is so much I want to share from Berlin, and I figured what better place to start than with food? I'll be honest, the food and drink were among the things we missed most about Berlin from our time living there! From the snack food like Bifis (sort of like Salami Slims but so, so much better) and Ritter Sport (world's best chocolate...not debatable) to the meals of Schnitzel mit Petersilienkartoffeln und Buttererbsen (plate-sized schnitzel with parsley potatoes and butter peas), Döner (the excellent German take on doner kebabs) and brunch (an institution in Berlin), to the many delicious drinks, both alcoholic and not...I'm thinking Afrikola, Fritz Kola (both extremely high-caffiene colas), Apfelschörle (an apple juice and mineral water mix), and of course, tasty and cheap beer....the Germans really know what they're doing! So our five days there were basically a pilgrimage from one much-missed food or drink haunt to another - strangely enough, the meal I missed most was the chicken tacos from Mexican restaurant Frida Kahlo's in Prenzlauerberg...but boy were they delicious! I hope these pictures give you a taste of Berlin life...don't make you too hungry!
